MIL-STD-1553 Boards and Testers

For the most part, 1553 interface cards include one or more MIL-STD-1553/1760 channels.

Many of the boards requested are for Multi-I/O configurations and interfaces.

At the present time, Sital offers these Multi I/O cards with:

  • ARINC-429 transmit and receive channels.
  • EBR-1553
  • 16PP194 and H009
  • Discrete digital I/O, Avionics discrete I/O, RS-422/485 serial interfaces.
  • ARINC-825-4/CAN Bus.

Our boards are targeted for flyable applications. DO-254 certifiable to DAL A.

MIL-STD-1553 Multi I/O Cards are available with 8 Channels of 1553

As well as Sital also offers two variants – 1553 cards with Single-function and tester.

In addition they are configurable to operate as BC, RT, Monitor or RT/Monitor modes.

1553 test boards can operate as BC, multi-RT (up to 31 RTs) and Monitor simultaneously.

For its single-function MIL-STD-1553 card, Sital offers a verity of API/libraries/drivers:

  • Windows

  • Linux

  • VxWorks

For its Tester Boards Sital offers Windows and Linux drivers.

Finally, Sital offers its COMposer GUI software for its tester boards.

COMposer supports simulation, test and monitoring applications.


Further more, Sital’s SnS provides continuous detection of cyber  violations.

Secondly, being able to detect and locate electrical faults.

Intuitively finding intermittent or continuous open or short circuits.

A major time savings in finding wire faults in the 1553 bus, hubs, cables, couplers, and connectors.

Also additional options available for most boards include an IRIG-B time input cyber-attack emulation.

For 26 years, Sital has supplied data bus interfaces to military/aerospace, industrial and automotive customers.

Sital’s interfaces include solutions for MIL-STD-1553, CAN bus, ARINC-429, EBR-1553, 16PP194 and H009 data buses.

Sital’s IP cores are instantiated on SoC/MPSoC FPGAs such as Zynq Ultrascale+.

A key point is this enables SWaP-C solutions for the MIL-STD-1553 and all other databus protocols.

Our processor-to-Mil-1553 cores provide register and memory compatibility with DDC’s®  Micro-ACEand Total-ACE.

Also, Sital offers other 1553 cores including simple RTs and for mitigating SEU (single event upset) for nuclear and space applications.

For use with its IP, Sital offers software drivers, including for PetaLinux, VxWorks®, Linux, Green Hills’ INTEGRITY®-178 and “Bare Metal” (no OS).

Sital’s drivers provide an industry standard API/library with OS-specific drivers and interfaces to FPGA interconnect buses like AXI.

In addition to IP and software, Sital also offers 1553 components, boards, testers, transceivers, transformers and couplers.

Sital’s transceivers provide the industry’s lowest power dissipation and include a closed-loop mechanism for eliminating residual voltages (dynamic offset) or “tails”.

Another Sital solution is its Safe and Secure (SnS) technology.

By means of enhanced physical layer monitoring, SnS detects instances of cyber “spoofing” (impersonation) violations.

Secondly, SnS can detect and locate intermittent or continuous open or short circuit faults in cables, connectors, couplers, terminators or connected LRUs.

Sital can supply its products with DO-254 and DO-178 certifiability up to and including DAL A.

DO-254 and DO-178 artifacts are provided with a close relationship of our 3rd party partners for Artifacts.

Sital also offers its integrated 1553 service for integrating its IP and software on SoC /MPSoC FPGAs. Integrated 1553, which leverages Vivado and Vitis tools.

This ultimately benefits customers by reducing FPGA system integration times tremendously

Finally, this allowing the customer time to focus on worries of higher-level hardware and software construct.

    BRD1553PC104 Board is a PC-104+ Card, multi-standard board that contains 2 dual-redundant channels of Mil-Std-1553. It is compatible with Mil-Std-1553B and Mil-Std-1760 and its channels can be configured independently to work with H009 and WB-194 in conjunction with 1553.


    8-Channel Multi-I/O PMC Board

    PMC-FC is a PCI Mezzanine Card, PMC-compatible, multi-standard board that contains up to 8 channels of MIL-STD-1553.
