The PMC-FC 8-Channel Multi-I/O Board is designed to support a wide range of avionics interfaces, this PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) with front connector integrates with existing systems including: ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, Digital, WB-194, H009, RS-485, Avionics Discrete I/Os, and additional protocols.

Integration Across Avionics Standards

PMC-FC stands as a PCI Mezzanine Card, featuring PMC compatibility and a multi-standard design. The board is distinguished by its ability to support up to eight MIL-STD-1553 channels. This capability is further enhanced by the board’s integration with standards such as WB-194 and H009. This makes it an indispensable tool for systems requiring a diverse range of communication protocols. Also, the addition of French DigiBus and other protocols can be provided upon request.

FPGA-Based Architecture

The architecture of the PMC-FC board relies on Sital’s established 1553, H009, and WB-194 (WMUX) IP cores. These cores are integrated into an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) component alongside discrete components transceivers. Sital provides programmability for the board, offering the versatility to accommodate different configurations and protocols while utilizing identical hardware.

It includes 8 Generic I/O pins that can be used as RS-485/RS-422, ARINC-429 (2 transmit and 2 receive channels) or 8 avionics I/O ports. The board also includes 8 digital I/Os.

Testing and Operational Efficiency

PMC-FC can be used for on-board avionics systems and for lab testing equipment. The standard interface board is software-compatible with DDC® Enhanced MiniACE® components and architecture for fast and easy integration with existing or new systems.

The testing variant comes equipped with features such as Multi-RT, RT Simulation, Error Injection, and additional functionalities!

The board can be mounted on any PCI, PCI Express, Compact PCI (cPCI), PXI or any other adaptor for use with standard test benches.

    • Up to 8 channels of dual-redundant Mil-Std-1553B
    • The card model dictates whether channels can be configured independently or concurrently for H009, MIL-STD-1553, and WB-194 applications
    • All channels adhere to Mil-Std 1553B Notice 2 compatibility, with each channel configurable as BC or RT+MT
    • 32K or 64K word RAM per channel
    • The tester can be configured for all protocols, enabling simultaneous BC, Multi-RT, and Monitor functionalities, along with features for error introduction and advanced monitoring
    • Also available as Software-compatible with DDC® Enhanced MiniACE® architecture
    • 4 I/O ports supporting RS-485/RS-422 or ARINC-429 configurations (depending on card model)
    • 8X digital discrete I/Os
    • 32-bit PCI 33MHz compatible
    • Very fast PCI access, works from PCI clock and supports PCI burst
    • Conduction or air-cooled PMC
    • Provided with drivers, software API for Windows
    • VxWorks drivers, API libraries and sample application available for licensing
    • Support for Sital’s Wiring Fault Detection IP for MIL-STD-115
