Description

Product Brief

Sital’s flagship MIL-STD-1553 IP core, used for interfacing between a processor and a MIL-STD-1553 bus. Provides BC, RT and Monitor operation, with architectural compatibility with DDC’s® Enhanced Mini-ACE® and other products.

This core consists of the BRM1553D, along with an enhancement implementing Sital’s Safe and Secure (SnS) functionality. SnS provides capabilities to detect cyber authentication violations as well as to detect and locate intermittent and continuous electrical faults such as open and short circuits in 1553 buses. This product enables authentication and wire fault monitoring from a single point on a bus, without the need to change an LRU or its OFP.

Option for BRM1553 IP core with DO-254 certifiability, for levels up to and including DAL A. DO-254 artifacts are supplied by a third-party company, Logicircuit.

BRM1553D IP core, except with a 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI target interface in place of the BRM1553D’s parallel local bus interface. This core includes an option to operate at 66 MHz. For applications requiring a PCIe back-end interface, Sital provides reference information for using a PCI bridge with a low-cost FPGA.

A version of the BRM1553D core that is optimized for spacecraft and high-altitude aircraft. This core includes enhancements to mitigate against single-event upsets. These include Hamming codes, watchdog timers, and state machine reset logic.

The BRM1553SPI is the BRM1553D IP core, except with a SPI interface in place of the BRM1553D’s parallel local bus interface. The SPI interface can operate at data rates up to 50 MHz.

This core provides MIL-STD-1553 front-end logic: Manchester encoder and decoders, 1553 protocol and data transfer logic, but no memory. This low-cost alternative is ideal for operating as an RT for interfacing simple systems with no processor to a MIL-STD-1553 bus. It’s also commonly used for space applications and in protocol converters such as 1553-to-CAN bus, RS-485/422 and other protocols.

Provides IP cores for the 16PP194 and H009 protocols. Available with parallel local bus or 32 MHz, 33/66 MHz PCI back-end interface.

With the exception of the BRM1553FE, all of Sital’s IP cores are supplied with API/library software. Sital’s software is API compatible with DDC’s® AceXtreme® software at the API level. As an option, Sital can also provide software drivers for Linux, VxWorks, Windows or other operating systems.

Sital’s SVIVADO is an integration service for its MIL-STD-1553 and/or other IP cores. With SVIVADO, Sital’s turnkey solution for integration of our 1553 IP core, FPGA processor, along with the integration of the 1553 API/library software and FPGA on-chip bus driver running under a real time operating system.

Sital’s EBR1553D IP Core is suitable for any EBR-1553 application. It operates at 10 Mb/s and provides BC, RT and Monitor modes. The core incorporates a 32-port hub, decoder/encoder, and protocol logic suitable for Enhanced Bit Rate 1553 implementation over one or more RS-485 physical layer interfaces. The core includes a high-speed synchronous dual port RAM back-end interface and provides register and memory architectural compatibility with DDC’s® Enhanced Mini-ACE®. This core can operate using Sital’s MIL-STD-1553 software.

Sital’s BRM1553Dx5 is an IP core for a version of MIL-STD-1553 operating at 5 Mb/s. Sital can supply a transceiver and isolation transformer capable of operating at this data rate over a multi-drop bus. This core includes a high-speed synchronous dual port RAM back-end interface and provides register and memory architectural compatibility with DDC’s® Enhanced Mini-ACE®. This core can operate using Sital’s MIL-STD-1553 software.

For support of its SPI-to-MIL-STD-1553 IP core and SPI-to-MIL-STD-1553 board, Sital offers its SPI Master IP core. The 1553 IP and board products include SPI target interfaces. The SPI Master IP provides a high-performance means for accessing and controlling them.
