Product Brief

Sital’s Total-OCTAVA™ MIL-STD-1553 devices integrate a BC/RT/Monitor or RT-only MIL-STD-1553B protocol engine, memory management, processor interface logic, 4K or 64K words of RAM, dual 1553 transceiver and dual transformer in a 312-ball Plastic BGA (Ball Grid Array) package.

The Total-OCTAVA™ is a pin-to-pin replacement for DDC’s® BU-64863T8 Total-ACE®, providing electrical, mechanical and architectural compatibility.

MIL-STD-1553 components like Sital’s OCTAVA™ provide a second source for DDC’s Mini-ACEME™ and Enhanced Mini-ACEME™ components.

These solutions are available in either RT-only or BC/RT/Monitor configurations and provide electrical, mechanical and software compatibility with DDC’s components.

This also includes compatibility at the hardware/software interface level, including register bit definitions; interrupts; memory data structures; BC instruction set and BC flag bit definitions. Sital also offers its API/library/driver software for VxWorks, Linux and Windows. These drivers provides API-level compatibility with DDC’s AceXtremeME library.

This MIL-STD-1553 component SITAL OCTAVA™ integrates Sital’s transceiver. This transceiver provides the industry’s lowest power dissipation and includes a mechanism for eliminating or minimizing residual voltage, aka “dynamic offset” or “tails” at the end of message transmissions. As an option, the OCTAVA™ terminals can also include Sital’s patented Safe and secure (SnS) technology.

MIL-STD-1553 components with SnS provides the capability to detect and reject received messages from unauthorized transmitting BCs or RTs in real time, and also to detect and locate intermittent or continuous open or short circuit wire faults in 1553 buses, stubs, cables, couplers, terminators or connected LRUs.

MIL-STD-1553 components, Sital’s Minuet™ is a family of 8 X 8 mm or 17 x 17 mm, transceiverless MIL-STD-1553B protocol terminals that are available in different configurations. These configurations include BC/RT/Monitor and RT/Monitor. Minuet™ devices are software compatible with DDC’s Enhanced Mini-ACE™, Mini-ACE Mark3, Micro-ACE and Total-ACE’s architecture, with 8K or 16K words of internal memory and a clock input that users can program to operate from a wide range of clock frequencies.

The Minuet operates with external 1553 transceivers and transformers. For its host interface, the Minuet offers multiple options, including a “DDC-like” asynchronous interface, a high-performance synchronous interface, a 32-bit, a synchronous 33/66 MHz PCI target interface, PCI Express or SPI. The Minuet includes compatibility at the hardware level, including register bit definitions; interrupts; memory data structures; BC instruction set and BC flag bit definitions. Sital also offers its API/library/driver software for VxWorks, Linux and Windows. This software provides API-level compatibility with DDC’s AceXtremeME library.
